St. Johns County Parks Foundation leads all-abilities turf replacement supporting inclusive youth baseball.
St. Johns, Fla. — February 7, 2026 — As St. Johns County celebrated the completion of major capital improvements at the Field of Dreams Baseball Complex today, the St. Johns County Parks Foundation highlighted a $20,000 community gift presented by the Field of Dreams Baseball Association during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Association’s contribution advances the Foundation’s ongoing campaign to fund the next phase of improvements—enhancements that directly benefit players and families participating in the Field of Dreams Baseball League.
To date, the Foundation has secured $80,000 in philanthropic support, including $60,000 in individual community donations and grant support from the MaryEllen Willis Foundation. With this momentum, $50,000 remains to fully fund the Foundation-supported elements of the project. “Our goal is to complete fundraising by May so the turf can be replaced immediately after the season ends,” said Marithza Ross, Executive Director of the St. Johns County Parks Foundation. “That timeline ensures players return next season to a safer, more inclusive, and upgraded playing surface.”
St. Johns County’s $1.5 million investment expanded the site’s existing parking lot and added a new concession building with ADA-accessible restrooms—significant upgrades that improve accessibility and functionality for league participants and visitors.
The Foundation’s campaign focuses on turf replacement and related improvements that complement the County’s investment and directly support inclusive youth programming at Field of Dreams.
