Have questions? Well, we have answers
01. Why does St. Johns County need a Parks Foundation?
+
A Parks Foundation allows our community to do more than public funding alone can support. While the county provides essential services, philanthropy helps elevate parks and recreation—expanding programs, improving facilities, creating accessible spaces, and enhancing the experiences residents rely on every day. The Foundation connects donors, businesses, and community partners to opportunities that directly strengthen our county’s quality of life. When the community invests in recreation, everyone benefits.
02. Why is unrestricted funding so important?
+
Unrestricted gifts give the Foundation the flexibility to respond to real-time needs, support programs across all corners of the county, and invest in opportunities as they arise. Parks and recreation needs shift with seasons, storms, growth, and community demand. Unrestricted funding allows us to move quickly, support year-round programs, and ensure resources are directed where they will have the greatest impact. It’s one of the most powerful ways to support recreation.
03. How does my support make a difference—even if I give to a project outside my neighborhood?
+
Every gift strengthens the entire parks system. When one park improves, the whole community benefits—through expanded access, safer facilities, increased programming, and shared community spaces. Your support creates county-wide impact, helping Parks & Recreation offer more programs, maintain higher standards, and serve residents of every age and ability. Local giving builds a stronger St. Johns County for all.
