When people think of parks and recreation, they picture beaches, playgrounds, programs, and fields. What they don’t always see is the coordination behind the scenes that keeps everything running. Recently, nearly 100 Parks and Recreation employees from across the department came together for an all-staff meeting—representing beaches, natural resources, programs, golf course facilities, maintenance, and more. The meeting focused on department updates, reviewing goals, and aligning priorities for the year ahead.

While much of this work happens behind the scenes, it directly impacts how residents experience parks, programs, and facilities countywide. It’s great to support all-stars of play in St. Johns County—working every day to keep public spaces open, safe, and accessible. And because the workday doesn’t stop, lunch was to-go, with thanks to Whataburger for helping keep the rest of the day moving.
