FAQ’s

Have questions? Well, we have all the answers

01. What is the St. Johns County Parks Foundation?

+

The St. Johns County Parks Foundation is the official nonprofit partner of St. Johns County Parks & Recreation. We support parks, programs, and recreational facilities county-wide by raising private philanthropic support for projects, programs, and community-driven improvements that benefit all residents.

02. Why does a Parks Foundation matter if the County already has a budget?

+

County funding supports essential operations and maintenance, but public funding alone cannot always meet the growing demand for modern, inclusive, and enhanced recreational spaces. The Foundation helps bridge that gap by empowering residents, businesses, and community groups to invest in parks and programs they care about—accelerating projects and expanding access beyond what public funding alone can provide.

03. How are donations and volunteer efforts used?

+

Support from donors and volunteers allows the Foundation to respond to the most immediate and meaningful needs across St. Johns County parks and programs. Contributions help fund community events, enhance recreational facilities, support inclusive programming, and advance priority projects as opportunities arise. This flexible support ensures we can make timely, high-impact investments that benefit residents today while preserving quality recreation for future generations
